The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) is pleased to announce the publication of a new article authored by ACEN leadership in the International Journal of Nursing Education.
The article, “Global Quality Assurance in Nursing Education: ACEN Standards and International Accreditation,” highlights the role of accreditation in advancing quality assurance, continuous improvement, and public trust in nursing education worldwide. The publication also explores the growing impact of international accreditation and the application of the ACEN Standards and Criteria across diverse global educational settings.
Authored by Chief Accreditation Officer, Dr. Nell Ard, and Senior Director of Accreditation Services, Dr. Keri Nunn-Ellison, the article discusses how globally relevant accreditation standards can support excellence in nursing education while respecting local regulatory and cultural frameworks.
The publication emphasizes the value of accreditation in strengthening educational quality, supporting workforce readiness, and promoting global recognition of nursing programs and graduates. It also outlines the ACEN’s continued commitment to supporting nursing education programs both within and outside the United States through internationally applicable Standards and Criteria.
