CONSIDERATIONS WHEN SELECTING SITE VISIT OPTIONS
Your selection for the four (4) visits should be determined based on areas of expertise, cost of travel (e.g., plane ticket, train ticket, driving) as determined by the ACEN Travel Policy, and consideration for conflicts of interest
- All Initial and Continuing Accreditation site visits are a full three (3)-days plus one (1)travel day.
- Follow-Up for Good Cause site visits may be completed within two (2)-days plus one (1)travel day.
- Focused site visits are one (1) or two (2)-days plus one (1) travel day depending on standards reviewed and locations.
- You may not select a visit option in a state where you work or reside, or in a state in which you have worked in the recent past.
- You may not select a visit option in which you have a known conflict. (Refer to Policy #1 Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest for details)
- You must use American Express Global Business Travel (AMEX GBT) to search the “potential” cost of travel before making your selections. If the cost of the one roundtrip plane ticket or two, one-way plane tickets slightly exceeds $400, peer evaluators could still include it in their list of preferences.
- In addition, please remember to assess the Governing Organization characteristics when selecting a program as we want to ensure that programs have at least one participant on the team that comes from a similar institution type, i.e. Religious, Not-for-Profit, For Profit, Public, etc.
To protect the integrity of the process and to keep costs as low as reasonably possible for programs, we, the ACEN staff, still have to verify peer evaluator expertise, travel costs, and conflicts for each team member. In addition, we may ask you to serve on a team that you did not select.
All peer evaluators that submit preferences will be contacted shortly after the assignments have been made. Assignments will be made immediately upon receipt of the forms. The ACEN may contact you regarding availability for site visits that you do not indicate as your preference.
You may select up to four (4) date options during which you could be available, if assigned. The ACEN will make every effort to honor your preferred selections however, cannot guarantee that your preference will be assigned.
