Per ACEN Policy #11 Public Notice of Proposed Policy Changes, the ACEN is providing notice of proposed revisions to Policies #5, #16, and #22, and proposed new Policy #35. Interested parties have the opportunity to offer comments from January 26, 2019 to February 25, 2019. Please provide any comments by email to [email protected].

1. POLICY #5 NOTIFICATION OF COMMISSION DECISIONS

Rationale for Changes to Policy #5: The proposed changes to Policy #5 updates the select information that the ACEN will disclose to stakeholder agencies/groups about programs seeking initial and continuing accreditation.

2. POLICY #16 PROGRAM CLOSING

Rationale for Changes to Policy #16: The proposed changes to Policy #16 updates the management of the process for the closing of an institution, a program, or an off-campus instructional site or branch campus where a nursing program is offered.

3. POLICY #22 PROGRAM ACCREDITATION STATUS IN RELATION TO STATE AND OTHER ACCREDITING AGENCY ACTIONS

Rationale for Changes to Policy #22: The proposed changes to Policy #22 aligns Policy #22 with the recently approved revisions to Policy #3 and eliminates conflicting and/or redundant information between these policies.

4. POLICY #35 TRADEMARKS

Rationale for Policy #35: Proposed new Policy #35 offers information and transparency on the appropriate use of an ACEN trademark, a service mark, and the ACEN name.
