How will the educational content of the Self-Study Forum (SSF) and Program Administrators Workshop (PAW) be offered?

The content of a SSF on the 2017 Standards and Criteria is available in an enhanced eCourse titled <em>Understanding and Applying the ACEN Standards and Criteria</em> and the content of the PAW is available in an enhanced eCourse titled <em>Effectively</em> <em>Leading an ACEN Accredited Program</em>. Both eCourses will be offered in an online, asynchronous, self-paced learning format within iSpring Learn (LMS).

Do I need special software to participate in the online eCourses?

No, you will be able to access content on your web browser or download the iSpring Learn app from Apple Store and Google Play for mobile devices.

Do I need a webcam to participate in the eCourses?

No, both eCourses are designed to be online, asynchronous, self-paced learning; there is no “live” component.

Can I use my mobile device or tablet to access the eCourse?

Yes, the eCourse will be accessible on multiple types of devices. However, using a smaller device (e.g., mobile) may limit your ability to easily view additional items such as the notes section.

How long is the Understanding and Applying the ACEN Standards and Criteria eCourse?

This eCourse is divided into several modules. Each module varies in length; generally, each module will be no more than one hour in length. For 30 calendar days from time of purchase, you will be able to stop, start, and review modules as desired so you have complete control over how much time you spend on each module.

How long is the Effectively Leading an ACEN Accredited Program eCourse?

This eCourse is divided into several modules. Each module varies in length; generally, each module will be no more than one hour in length. For 30 calendar days from time of purchase, you will be able to stop, start, and review modules as desired so you have complete control over how much time you spend on each module.

How much will each eCourse cost?

Effectively Leading an ACEN Accredited Program eCourse: $99

I only need information on Standard 4, can I purchase only this module?

You will have access to all modules within each eCourse purchased. The modules cannot be purchased individually. Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) contact hours are awarded only to the individual who purchased the eCourse, completed of all modules in the eCourse, and completed the final evaluation.

Can I share my eCourse login information with members of my team?

Each person who accesses the eCourse should have their own login information. Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) contact hours are awarded only to the individual who purchased the eCourse, completed of all modules in the eCourse, and completed the final evaluation.

How many Continuing Nursing Education contact hours (CNEs) will be awarded for each eCourse?

Understanding and Applying the ACEN Standards and Criteria eCourse: 13 CNEs

Effectively Leading an ACEN Accredited Program eCourse: 6 CNEs

How are Continuing Nursing Education contact hours (CNEs) awarded? Can members of my team receive CNEs too?

Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) contact hours are awarded only to the individual that purchased the eCourse. Upon completion of all modules in the eCourse, the purchaser must complete the final evaluation to receive CNE contact hours. A CNE certificate will be generated once the final evaluation is completed.

How long do I have access to an eCourse?

Access is 30 CALENDAR DAYS from date of purchase; therefore, it is important that you purchase an eCourse when you will have the time to complete all the modules within 30 calendar days of purchase.

Can I pause an eCourse and come back to it later?

Absolutely!

The eCourses are asynchronous allowing you to view at times that are best for you within the 30 calendar days of access purchase. We encourage you to keep a list of questions as you complete each module and, if your questions have not been answered by the end of the entire eCourse, please contact one of the ACEN Directors or staff at 404-975-5000.

Are there any differences in the content offered in the F2F Self-Study Forum the VS. the ACEN eCourse titled Understanding and Applying the ACEN Standards and Criteria?

The ACEN eCourse is based on the 2017 Standards and Criteria. All upcoming Self-Study Forums are based on the 2023 Standards and Criteria.

Why is the cost of the F2F more than the online eCourse?

Because offering an in-person experience at a hotel is more expensive (e.g., food, beverages, AV support) than the eCourse experience.
