MARCH 24, 2021
A year has gone by since the COVID-19 pandemic shuttered doors to in-person conferences and the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing responded accordingly by canceling the Self-Study Forum (SSF), Program Administrators Workshop (PAW), implementing eCourses, and converting the Annual Nursing Education Accreditation Conference into a virtual experience.
Today, ACEN is hoping to meet face-to-face again as COVID-19 vaccines are being distributed across the world. In response, we are prepping for our first in-person event November 1-2, 2021. The Self-Study Forum is a 1½ day workshop, where the goal is to support nursing faculty and administrators with demonstrating compliance and provide guidance for writing the program’s report in preparation for an ACEN site visit.
The event will be onsite at The Westin Galleria Houston from November 1st through November 2nd with a full “no questions asked” refund policy — up to 30 calendar days before the event — if for whatever reason an attendee’s plans change.
In the event the ACEN is unable to host the forum safely (according to CDC guidelines at the time of the event) confirmed registrations will be refunded in FULL.
“ACEN understands that the COVID-19 pandemic is not over. However, we have faith in all Americans and believe that by the third quarter of 2021 the national vaccine program with have successfully achieved its goals, and in addition to rigorous safety protocols attendees can feel comfortable attending this event,” according to Dr. Marcy Stoll, CEO of ACEN. “We are working closely with the Westin Galleria and formed a partnership to protect the safety of attendees. The hotel agreed to follow all the COVID-19 safety practices/guidelines hotel-wide issued by the CDC or Marriott Corporation, whichever are more restrictive at the time of the event.”
The ACEN is still offering an optional virtual experience. ACEN Everywhere: Virtual Learning Experiences, which provides professional development opportunities through eCourses, that are asynchronous, self-paced learning format within the iSpringLearn learning management system (LMS) and composed of multiple modules.
