Jessica L. Estes DNP, APRN-NP
Dr. Estes has been the owner of Estes Behavioral Health since October of 2012. Estes Behavioral Health, LLC provides mental health care and therapy services for all ages. They are also certified by the State of Kentucky to provide DUI assessment and treatment for 12 months by the Division of Behavioral Health. As the Owner, Dr. Estes sees patients of all ages, coordinates care, and manages all aspects of the office. She is proficient in coding and billing and can build a practice. She also works for Owensboro Health Regional Hospital, as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, rounding on a 12-bed inpatient unit and providing psychiatric consults for medical floors. She also worked at Owensboro Community and Technical College from 2007-2009 as the Associate Dean of Nursing and taught in both Associate Degree and Practical Nursing programs. She currently precepts psych NP students.
She received her Master’s Degree in nursing from Vanderbilt University in 2004 and Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Kentucky in 2013.
Dr. Estes currently serves and an ACEN site visitor (since 2009). She has been a BOC for ACEN since 2014. She is a board member for the Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Midwives, serves on the APRN Council for the Kentucky Board of Nursing (since 2009) and the Controlled Substances Formulary Development Committee (Since 2015). She is a current member of several nursing organizations (ANA/KNA, APNA). She is also the Content Coordinator for the Psych NP post-master’s program at Northern Kentucky University.
