Dr. Linda MilesLinda Miles, EdD, RN

Dr. Miles has served as Chair for the School of Nursing at Daytona State College since 2000. As chair, she provided oversight for the certificate, associate and baccalaureate nursing programs. During her tenure, she created the RN to BSN completion program and expanded the associate program to five campuses. From 2012-2013, she also served as Associate Vice President for Academic Assessment and Planning. She was recently appointed the Associate Vice President for the College of Health and Public Services where she provides oversight for the nursing, health career and public services programs.
Dr. Miles earned her baccalaureate and master’s degrees in nursing from the University of Maryland at Baltimore and doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Central Florida. She served as president for the National Organization for Associated Degree Nursing from 2008-2010 and currently serves as the Chair for the Florida Center for Nursing. She has also served as chair for the Florida Council of Nurse Educator Administrators and has been appointed to many ad hoc committees to represent nursing.
Dr. Miles has served as peer reviewer since 2003; member of the evaluation review panel since 2008; and external consultant for the ACEN. She has worked with schools in the areas of curriculum development, program accreditation and data review to demonstrate program need. Her interest is working with faculty to integrate manageable assessment and evaluation processes within the curriculum.
