WHO WE ARE
The ACEN is governed by a 17-member Board of Commissioners. The Commissioners are elected by the representatives of ACEN-accredited nursing programs. The legal basis for the foundation and structure of the Commission is outlined in the Bylaws and the Articles of Incorporation. The ACEN is incorporated under the laws of the state of New York.
The ACEN staff maintain operational functions of the office and support the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Board of Commissioners, and nursing programs. Names and credentials of staff can be found here.
Nurse administrators, nurse educators, and nurse clinicians are the essential subject matter experts and the driving force in the ACEN peer review process. Peer evaluators serve ACEN-accredited nursing programs in every stage of the peer review process and are committed to strengthening the quality of nursing education through accreditation.
