POSITION SUMMARY

The Accreditation Services Support – Site Visit Processing and Content Editor is a member of the staff of the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) appointed by the Chief Executive Officer sharing with other Accreditation Services team members and staff the work involved with the Commission’s evaluative processes. The Site Visit Processing and Content Editor serves in a supportive role in the accreditation processes, systems, and operations to include, but not limited, to processing site visit applications and reports, other communications, and data entry and management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and process Information Forms for each accreditation cycle to include validation of information submitted;
  • Maintain the site visit table per cycle;
  • Initiate processing of Site Visit Reports and Focused Site Visit Reports by acknowledging receipt, saving in appropriate files and logging reports;
  • Format all Site Visit Reports and Focused Site Visit Reports in a timely and efficient manner;
  • Edit and prepare correspondence, mailings, and publication materials for distribution as assigned;
  • Assist in performing initial and second edits on Site Visit Reports and Focused Site Visit Reports as assigned;
  • Oversee processing of third-party comments;
  • Provide support and assist in logging incoming substantive change reports and additional information into SMART;
  • Follow-up with programs regarding late additional information submitted related to substantive change;
  • Provide support and assist in performing initial and second edits on Candidacy reports;
  • Send out reminders for Information Forms to all candidate programs nearing expiration of their Candidacy status;
  • Utilize written and oral communication skills to address questions and inquiries related to accreditation from internal and external constituents;
  • Participate and assisting in cross-training techniques with other support personnel;
  • Organize and maintain of files and program records;
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

All of the following are required and considered critical elements to be considered for the position (as noted):

  • An earned Baccalaureate degree from an institution of higher learning accredited by an agency recognized by the USDE or CHEA is required;
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills;
  • Excellent writing and typing skills including technical report production and editing;
  • Excellent grasp of grammar, punctuation, and word usage;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Intermediate to advanced user of Microsoft Word, including mail merge and track changes functions;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Ability to perform in team-oriented environments and meet strict deadlines;
  • Professionalism, integrity, dependability, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
